Currently, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), the New Covid-19 variant XBB.1.16, known as "Arcturus", has some unique symptoms compared to previous variants. One new feature of this variant is that it causes conjunctivitis, or red, swollen and itchy eyes, in young patients similar to common viral pinkeye.

Treatment and prevention of the pinkeye symptom of the new COVID-19 variant:

-          Wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your eyes

-          Rinse your eyes with saline eye drops after going swimming in public pools

-          Get your eyes examined when you have symptoms of red, swollen and itchy eyes.
