How harmful are Ultraviolet (UV) light to your eyes?

The naked eye is very sensitive to any touch, including light. When looking at an object that is too bright for a long time, the eyes will quickly get tired and feel painful. Sunlight is more dangerous due to UV rays. Here are some eye conditions if your eyes are exposed to lots of UV rays:

Cataracts and eye cancers

Cataracts and eye cancers can often take years to develop and detect. Every time you expose yourself to the sun without protecting your eyes, you increase your risk of these dangerous diseases. At first, ultraviolet rays affect the eyelids and the cornea, causing burns. If severe, UV rays will affect the lens, leading to cataracts.

Pterygium

Pterygium is a condition in which there is a pink-white patch in the eye that originates from the corner of the eye and can spread to cover the cornea and affect vision. People who spend long hours under the midday sun or near rivers, oceans and mountains are often at risk.
